Job description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Regional Legal Manager to oversee the legal function for the Home Loans and Mortgage Loans (Prime & Affordable Both) business across Gujarat & MP. The role involves managing branch-level legal managers, ensuring standardized property document vetting, title clearance, and regional compliance with property laws and secured lending norms. This is not a litigation role but a transactional legal role with emphasis on secured lending, compliance, and regional legal governance.

- Must Have :
Minimum 10 years of legal experience in HFCs, NBFCs, or Banks, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory - Area|Regional role.
Strong expertise in secured lending documentation, property laws, and mortgage loan procedures across multiple states.
Proven ability to manage, train, and guide branch-level legal managers.
Experience in Home Loans and Mortgage Loans.
Strong decision-making skills in complex property/title-related cases.
LLB (Mandatory) from a recognized university.
Candidates with specialized exposure in real estate/property law or secured lending documentation will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities :

Supervise and guide branch-level legal managers across multiple locations within the assigned states.

Ensure uniform and compliant legal processes for property documentation, title clearance, and loan disbursal.

Review and resolve complex or escalated cases related to property and mortgage documentation.

Empanel, manage, and monitor external advocates across the region; ensure timely and high-quality legal reports.

Provide region-wide legal guidance to sales, credit, and business teams for smooth loan processing.

Maintain and update a repository of state-specific property laws, stamp duty structures, and registration requirements.

Conduct periodic audits, checks, and reviews to ensure error-free and compliant legal documentation.

Act as the regional escalation point for all legal matters related to Home Loans and Mortgage Loans.

Train and mentor branch legal managers on property law updates, documentation standards, and compliance practices.

Liaise with Head Office Legal/Compliance teams to ensure policy alignment and regional implementation.
